Is YouTube appropriate for business video?

My friend and fellow B2B marketer Dianna Huff wrote a case study about one of her clients using humorous videos on YouTube to promote their products.
One of her newsletter subscribers responded about YouTube serving up “inappropriate” images of supposedly related videos on the same page as one of the videos mentioned in the case study.
Dianna blogged about it. Marketing luminaries David Meerman Scott and Bob Bly both chimed in with comments. What are your thoughts ?

Mac,
In the interest of full disclosure, CYRBA Corp. isn’t my client. Morty Schiller, the copywriter for the video script and CYBRA’s MarCom Director, and I know each other. He graciously allowed me to present his videos as a case study in my newsletter.

Dianna,
Thanks for clarifying.
Interesting timing on your post. I have a new, short video about my marketing speaking services.
In addition to making it available on the marketing speaking/training pages of my Website I’m planning to post it on You Tube.
Now I’ll be sure to do a YouTube search and make sure that questionable content doesn’t come up as related videos.

I think that most people that would be using Youtube would be mature and knowledgable enough to know that Youtube “related video” that contains questionable content is not a reflection on your business, but just a function of youtube’s algorithms.
